Lisu vine braiding with love

When Her Majesty Queen Sirikit saw the handicrafts produced by the Lisu Tribe of Northwest Thailand, she was very impressed by their skills in weaving with the Lisu Vine, which was indigenous to their village, using the same skills that had been passed down by their ancestors for many generations. The Lisu Tribe was asked to weave products with this Lisu Vine which would then be purchased by the Royal Project.

The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles February’s Program: “Lisu Vine Braiding with LOVE” workshop. Led by QSMT staffs who are trained specialists in braiding the Lisu Vine, everyone who joined this workshop will learn the basic techniques of braiding the Lisu Vine and use this skill in various applications creating lovely keepsakes. The workshop took place at QSMT’s auditorium on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 1 – 3:30pm. The fee is 200 per person.
